I'm new to this forum and just took ownership of my Catalina 25 today and I'd like to meet other members in the area so maybe we can get together and sail and whatnot. I'm sorry if this topic has been covered elsewhere or if I placed it in the wrong category....
I'm at Bayview Marina at Lake Ray Hubbard and there's a bunch of C22's, C25's, C 27s etc. so I thought I'd introduce myself and say hello!
I have yet to name my C-25 and I'm not sure what the hull number is.

I have a Cat 25 TR on Lake Grapevine. I'm in for almost any chance to talk boats!

For everyone else, I'm on Lake Ray Hubbard at Bayview Marina as well. Getting a group sail together would be great. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
What is your boat's name? there are a couple C 25's near me, mine has no name on it and is in slip 516.
The boat's name is "Serenity Now" but we are in the process of getting the new graphics on the boat. Keeps slipping down the priority list. SO now it just sits without a name.
We are over in slip 20208 on the finger behind the marina's office. Feel free to go check out the boat if you want.

I'll do that next time I'm there. This weekend I'll be working with the former owner to install the roller furling kit that came with the baot.
You can find the hull number in several places; carved into the transom, on the plate in the cockpit, and on the main sail (if its the correct one). You'll also find it in the HIN on your boat's title/registration.
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum and to the Association. Look for the HIN (hull identification number) engraved or stamped into the gel coat in the upper right corner of the transom (outside), just below the rubrail. It will start with "CTYK". The next 4 digits will be your hull number. The rest of the HIN indicates model year and/or when it was built. Also, as Don wrote above, if you have a metal plate on the transom (cockpit side) under the tiller, it will be there also.
PCP777 - I live in Grapevine, so the boat is only a few minute away. We love the lake and Scotts Landing is a great spot to be. Where so you live now. If you are in the mid cities head on out.

Yes, Grapevine lake is nice, I used to live in the mid cities but moved a few years ago to Rockwall to be closer to work and we live just off Ray Hubbard as well. Good to meet you!
OK guys I'm a little bit worried about the proposed extension. Will this impact anything on the sailing side of the lake? Hopefully all of this will stay north of I30. I wonder if the Mesquite /Sunnyvale expansion will effect spots like Windsurfer bay park....
We just don't need another bridge slicing up the lake...
"The President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension is a proposed 9.9-mile segment from State Highway (SH) 78 in Garland, east to Interstate Highway (IH) 30. The proposed six-lane toll road will pass through Garland, Sachse and Rowlett and will [b[include a one-mile bridge over Dallas' Lake Ray Hubbard.[/b]"
Looks like it will tie into I30 in the area just North of Captain's Cove marina and Windsurfer Bay Park. I bet traffic is going to be more of a nightmare in that area than it already is. Especially during construction.
