I am a long time traditional C25 sailor but had my first sail in a C250 last week. I was impressed! It moved well in water and the wheel steering was a plus. Light winds on Lake Oroville in No.Ca.was the location. What a sight sailing on this massive lake that has been reduced 70% from its peak level due to drought conditions. We were unable to walk to the marina at Bedwell Canyon due to the severe drop of the water level. Instead we were provided a water taxi by marina staff and shuddled to the marina. It is extremely difficult to launch a boat with these low water conditions. Fortunately Oroville is a deep lake and there is still lots of water under our keels. Anyway, I wish all of you C250 sailors well and hope you have great sailing wherever you may be. If you care to please jump into this conversation with where you sail and how are water/weather conditions are for you.
Thanks for the post David. We sail on Fern Ridge Lake in Eugene, Oregon. It is a reservoir but is quite shallow being 20' at its deepest. If our level is down 6' the season would be over. Good news is that it rains here a fair amount and the water level is just fine. We plan to launch in a couple of weeks.

You Californians have tried that idea before - diverting the Columbia River was actually a live idea a couple of decades ago. You should move to Oregon.
Hi Dave, our other lake is starting to fill up but the snow is still on the ramps. Oroville has all those cables holding the marina's out in the water. Has anyone every touched one? The C250 is a great boat, we have several over on our side of the lake during the summer.
Lake Tahoe is down this year, too. However, there's still something like 1600 ft of water below the surface, so I suppose our C-250 with the wing keel should be okay.
Branch oak Lake, just north west of Lincoln Nebr. is at full pool the last few years. The water is clear in the spring, brown in the mid summer, and green late Aug. Ya got to have a sense of humor when sailing on a 1200 sq acre lake, with 115 slips, a bait shop, and 8 sailling clubs between Omaha and Lincoln Nebr. The biggest boat on the lake it a 32 motorboat and we only have 1 of them, 2-30ft'ers 3-27's 4-26's and the rest are 25' and below. Well that's the news for BO. Dave B.
