The previous owner of Utopia came in too hot one day and ran the bow pulpit into the concrete pillar that the dock floats on. The result was a bent bow pulpit which was repaired but is somewhat bent. I did not even realize it until I saw mine up close to another C25. It looks somewhat like this, mine being the one on the right. I don't have too much of an issue with how it looks but the reshaping of the geometry will not allow the life lines to tighten fully. I would like to shorten them and saw this item from one of the recent posts on this forum. Has anyone ever tried it or can recommend a similar product? I am not going to shell out money for a new bow pulpit so don't bother going there.

Why don't you just shorten the line, replace the stud and reuse the pelican hooks? (If it is what you have) The stud is about $11 at West Marine, provided that the stores in CA also offer an in store crimping tool for customer use, as they do in New York, you'll have an inexpensive solution to your dilemna.
