For some time I've been intrigued by Suzy Q's tech tip of adding an enginge throttle control box for my Honda 8. I've always found it a bit tough w/ the tight quarters and winds we have at my slip to be taking my eyes off the dock long enough to turn around, reach down and adjust the throttle. Those of you who have done it? Do you like it? Is it worth it?

Are engine control boxes with removable lever still available? The Northstar 500's in our club have such a device, but they were built only in the 70's.
I looked into it for my old Johnson motor and found that remote kits are available for most engines back to the early 1990's. My subsequent upgrade to the Merc Big Foot took care of the problem - the integrated throttle/shift tiller, locked in the up position, extends a few inches above the transom and makes it a no look action.
