I have water coming in through the starboard side cabin light fixture near the mast. It drips for a day or so following a heavy rain. I plan on re-bedding the mast step and the four pin electrical connection.I really don't see any way it is coming from the jib tracks or stanchions so I was not planning on re-bedding them.
I think your diagnosis is correct. If you remove that spot light you can see inside the hollow area below the mast step. That may help you find the source. Since it is the starboard light, and the electric connection is starboard of the mast, I suspect it is the electric connection.
You could remove the light and then have someone aim a hose at the area and see if it leaks.
Pulling the mast step is non-trivial, but straightforward. The thing to be concerned about is whether you have water intrusion in your core. I dried mine out for over two months before sealing the hole with epoxy. I had water coming out of the same fixture, this seems to have fixed it. So far I have not had to replace the deck connector.
