Don - The great thing about this forum is that we all have our specialties, and of course our weak points. I know electrical (more or less), but I am confused by bottom paint and fiberglass chemistry.
Don't try to go it alone, if you have questions, then ask.
Like they always said in high school, if one person asks the question, most of the class was thinking it.

As I recall, he's a Marine Electrical Engineer. (Makes me nervous--his boat was, two owners before him, mine. )
Dave - don't worry, I am replacing the #16 and #18 speaker wire as we speak. Can you recycle black tape?
As I said above, I am willing to dispense as much free advice as people are willing to put up with. But we all know the value of free advice . . .
. . . . so now I've removed all the old bottom paint and the hard paint, and I've sanded the hull down with 80 grit.
I'm ready to put on the Interlux barrier coat (whenever the weather cooperates > 50 degrees and dry). So, do I mix only one coat's worth at a time? and how long do I have to wait between coats?
FYI - I returned the hard bottom paint (thanks Dave and thank you Mr. West Marine guy) and bought a gallon of blue CPP plus ablative paint as my signal coat. I'll paint 2 coats of red over that before I launch.
I think it'll be fine, but you never really know with bottom paint, do you?
