OK, Just a quick question on tapered battens. When I removed them I marked them as to top to bottom but being a new sailor I didn't notice as to which way the taper should face. Is it the tapered side toward the leech or the other way around. Standard Catalina main, partial battens if It matters. Thanks.

Scott: the thinner end should be forward, towards the luff. The idea is that you want the sail to curve more forwards, creating depth for lift.

Well I guessed wrong. Thanks for the info, Now I will go back to the living room where the sails are all laid out ( my wife just loves this ) and reverse them. The Sails are going on tomorrow. IMPULSE was splashed on the 2nd and after the Sails are on she is ready to go. Yippie! Thanks again.
