The Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival is coming. In a few weeks I'm planning to anchor out to listen to some blues over the water, with the appropriate refreshments. It's one of the admiral's favorite sailing destinations! Looks like some really fun bands and blues singers!

Two years ago there was great sound over the water, maybe 400 yards from the stage, and the giant screens in the park allowed the flotilla of 50 boaters to see the performers, too, with binoculars.

I agree! Good times.

Sadly, the only onwater concert we can reach on our little lake is "Kempenfest" on Kempenfelt Bay. Mostly tribute bands. I've planned for our club to go down and raft up for the night. Hopefully we arrive early enough to get a decent spot in the bay.

If I was in Toronto I would make it a point go to see the "Festival of Fire" http://wx.toronto.ca/festevents.nsf/RSSAllCurrent/E943C38496D385948525758B006BD3D4.

I'm jealous of you guys with cool stuff to see/do!!

John, I love the Blues. Nothing like that by me. If I ever get your way, I gotta remember that date.
Best I get is 4th of July-viewing 5 or 6 firework shows from my boat. But no music.

Some of my friends are thinking about sailing up to the Blues Festival that weekend. I'm not sure if I'm going to make that trip or not. This weekend there is a big Wine Festival in Annapolis. I'm planning to go to that and spend the weekend on the boat. My Sapphire Breeze splashes this Friday!

Normally we have to endure the thumping base rap junk here in SoFla, but recently the dramatic downturn in power boat activity has curtailed that significantly

There are times that I really do like the high cost of fuel!
