Are you asking about the sunbrella canvas hatch cover?
If so, that would be a great diy project.
The cover will stretch, we use a fender under it to keep it domed in order to improve water run off. So with that in mind it should be easy to make one.
But then.. you might want to spend the time sailing!
I've got one that doesn't fit our boat. We got it a while back and it has a different snap pattern from our boat. I think it's for a newer boat. Let me know if you're interested in it. I sent you email as well.

I tore the gears out of a singer machine that had plastic gears in it. I did replace the gears but it was a major job to get the machine retimed.
