Hi,

I've just booked a last minute trip to visit an old friend in Boynton Beach, FL (near West Palm Beach).

Looking for a little sailing action tomorrow and/or Sunday.

Anyone know the area? Any positive or negative recommendations or suggestions?

Thanks,

Phil

One thing about FLA waters, even in the Intra Coastal Waterway, is that it is SHALLOW.

Here are links for the online NOAA chart viewer: http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/11460.shtml or http://www.charts.noaa.gov/OnLineViewer/11466.shtml

I've sailed much of Biscayne Bay a little further south in a rental C-25 a few years ago.

It was a lot of fun, especially synching up with the drawbridges.

But I had to constantly watch the aids to navigation and the water depths. We touched bottom only once or twice.

Didn't find any sailing - tried to rent a Hobie off Delray Beach but they won't rent when there are whitecaps out. Had a great time checking out the bars and music instead - highly recommended!

You're right, they were having some fierce Northeasterlies kicking up quite a mess on the east coast.
