Just saw a movie (documentary sort of) called "Ice Blink." Got it on Netflix. A couple takes a 5 year sail around the world and has three babies along the way! 25 foot boat!! Later they get a 32' steel sailboat and sail around the arctic circle for a couple of years with all five family members. Interesting story about an unconventional family. By the way the 25 was a daysailer that the guy modified. Yikes!

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

Randy, I didn't see the movie but saw their story on Dateline. It was fantastic. I didn't know there was a movie. You can see a 4 minute cut on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQsLeGzIY3A.

Randy, I just saw it. It was good. I wish there were more sailing shots, but how could there be, right? Now, however, I'm dealing with the fallout from the movie. My 12-year-old wants to swing on the bosun's chair while under sail, just like the kids in the movie.

Excellent! A modern day variation on my hero, Robin Lee Graham's dream of seeing the world first hand. I just wish I had the skill, confidence and hutzpah to follow their lead.

They've been writing about sailing since before their first child was born.
