I had to run down into downtown Seattle today to buy stock for a new project for the new business. The shop is about half a mile from the boat so I decided to go make sure it was still afloat. We haven't been sailing in about two months, basically since starting the business, there just isn't time.

Anyway, as I walked up to the boat I noticed I had tendrils of grass (algae?) billowing from my hull and rudder. My boat had sat long enough that I had significant growth. I felt disgusted with myself, and got out the brush & extensible boat pole. After about half an hour of scrubbing, the hull at least looks like someone cares about the boat again. At least in our new slip it seems to stay a bit cleaner than it did in the old one. We're between two cement plants, so it's quite dusty, but maybe there's better air flow in the new place?

I'm going to try to get out on Sunday-Monday, at least an over-nighter out at Blake Island.

<<I felt disgusted with myself>>

Hey.. that is the great thing about these boats, they hold up so well without alotta attention. Just think, she is always there waiting to take you out for some fun, after you finish the real work in your life.

About three months ago, my dock had a storm and several boats were badly damaged, and a finger on the dock was destroyed, and my boat "Leaky" was just fine. YaHooo.........

Now mine is growin tomatoes on the bottom but we will probably get the scuba tanks out and scrub it this weekend. or next...
