Well I got to steal one of those rare weekdays off from work on Tuesday. What a beautiful day we had. Nice wind and nobody else on the Sound, Well very few. Sometimes you just get a little gift!

Beautiful shot, I love the feeling of stealing away for awhile when the rest of the world is toiling - all that water and no interference. What land features are we seeing in the distance?

We were in mid L.I Sound, Half way between Mamareneck and Hempstead Harbor. You are looking down Hempstead Harbor. Glen Cove on the left, Port Washington on the right.

We had a great day today, overcast due to a front moving through, but good wind, guessing about 10-12. Reefed main and working jib (the admiral doesn't like to heel too much) and we were till doing 5.5-6 MPH (sorry, the GPS isn't set to knots) and we were well balanced. After lunch the sun came out for a while and we put up the bimini, much to the admiral's delight. Water temp was about 82. At the end of the sail anchored across the cove from the docks, I got in the water with mask, fins, and deck brush and did a little long overdue bottom cleaning.
