Any sounders out there with some tips on north shore (somewhere near I-95) marinas with inexpensive winter storage? I've managed to find as low as about $35 / foot, just wondering what others are paying.

Thanks,

Chris,

I bought osmepneo from Coney's in Huntington, LI. Part of the deal was that previous owner pay winter storage so the selling price was reduced by that amount. It seems like it was something like $600 and that was 5 years ago. The deal included launch and rigging in the spring and Coney mooring for "awhile" until I was ready to move osmepneo to Nyack NY.

Hope this helps.

Spicer's Marina in Noank charges $30/ft. There is an addtional charge of I forget what per foot to remove, store and re-step your mast, if you don't drop it yourself and store it on deck. They're at 860 536-4978. It's about 10 minutes from the Groton Long Point exit off I 95.

Thanks guys. I talked to Spicer's today and they might work out well.

Cheers,

Chris: I'm down on the West end of CT and am storing at Norwalk Cove Marina--a good operation but $47/foot with the mast up; quite a bit more including taking it down. You won't find much better down here on the Gold Coast except in some parking lot with no power or water. Spicers is good--that's where we bought Passage. There are some slightly cheaper places in the Groton/Mystic area, but they sell out early.

Geez, I won't complain about my winter storage fees anymore after seeing what you guys pay. My winter storage fees work out to $12/ft and which includes haulout, wash, and splash.

Dave, $47/ft...Yikes! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle>

Ya, I'd buy a trailer, but it'd look kinda funny sitting in front of our house...
