Mundane question: Has anyone removed the covers from the quarterberth mattress, washed them in a machine, then put them back on? They need cleaning, and I see that they do have zippers to remove the cover from the padding. Just wondering: Will I have a problem getting them back on?
Thought I'd check before removing. Thanks.
P.S. Earlier today I posted this into the wrong forum, so I'm reposting here.

I have cleaned all the covers and the rugs with a carpet/floor cleaner, with wand attachment. Rent it from Ace hardwear. I looked at putting them in the washer, but did'nt think it would turn out the way I would like. Also cleaned the fome, when the covers we're off. Thay look and smell great!!!
That's my 2cents worth. And "YES" I am a Catalina 250 owner # 411 Dave B. ______________/)______________/)________________/)))))_____________ .
Yo Michael....you've got a brand new boat and your cushsions need cleaning already...have you been clam digging and not washing your feet off....LOL...
I agree with Dave....use a carpet cleaner and you can control the type of cleaner and freshener, and also have them laid out in the shape they should be in....you can actually buy a "home use" carpet cleaner for not much more than you can rent the commercial ones....

Yup I did just that. Washing machine, but no drier. It`s a little tricky putting them back onto the foam because of the tight fit but all in all an easy job.
