Hey Sten, where you at these days? I know that you sometimes visit family in Portland Oregon. I'm in Portland for the next couple of weeks. So if you're in Portland OR let's get together and hoist a few, discuss the old times that we never shared, and talk about women we never knew.

Sounds evil! Shady Lady 32nd and NE Columbia Blvd, Friday at say 4:00?

Sadly, I am stuck on the boat for hurricane season in St. Augustine. Our cruising was temporarily interrupted by a bunch of work, and we decided not to transit to New England with the rest of the SnowBirds. Now the ratio of "Cruisers" to "Liveaboards" - read: "Derelicts" - in the marina has created a less than optimal living situation, so we are contemplating a trip to Stuart FL around the first of the month. So that wiped out plans to visit Mom in the fall as we had promised her. SO, yeah - I could have been out there, but not this year. Nice time to visit wine country!

Long term - we are untying after returning from a tradeshow in France in early December and heading to the Bahamas, then after the beer runs out and I get tired of looking at bikini's, we'll head to the Turks and Caicos - over to the Dominican Republic, maybe US Virgin Islands and whatnot, then it looks like we'll wind up heading up the Gulf Coast for next summer and finding a decent marina in the Tampa St. Pete's area. Our friends who stayed in the Rio Dulce for the summer are bored silly and tired of living in a third world country, so there went my wife's enthusiasm for a run there.

Thanks for checking in - come to the islands in the winter!

Looks like we'll be just missing each other this year. We're going be on the east coast of Fla. in December then the west coast of Fla in January. Italy some time in the spring and back to Oregon a couple of more times during 2010. Then bareboating in the BVI in the winter of 2011. I might make a trip up to Maine some time during that period (I'd love to go back and sail on the shcooner J&E Riggen again)Maybe we will cross tacks some where along the line.
Thanks for the response and Bon Voyage(s)

we'll be here in mid December just before we jump off- I'll keep everyone posted. Ever sit on a winch as big as a bar stool? I should sell tickets...
