We went down to Eufalua last weekend and enjoyed a lovely day out on the stinkboat. Bilge pumps working perfectly, with a solar battery on the batteries. I keep one pump that has the electronic sensor for water in the front of the boat hardwired to the batteries so it can't be shut off. They had 5 inches in one day and meanwhile, up in Atlanta it has been raining for manymany day with around 10 inches in one day with flooding. I can't seem to up to the sailboat, we named leaky, ( or LeeKee ) cause it is an old boat and some water comes in everywhere. It is going to be a job rebedding everything on the boat. That is the fun part though. It gets boring when you finish a boat and go to West without buying anything ( Shame shame ).
Wknd before last had some fantastic diving on the gulf coast. Clearest water I've seen in years. But now I've had to assist several women with their house bilge pumps after our flooding. Funny how boat work helps you on your house work.
We had so much water several of our interstates were blocked.

I had a bilge pump ready. Northern tools said they sold 44 pumps Monday. I'm setting up one for Grlfrnd, like on the boat.
Where you live you'd better have a 550 gallons per second ready. Looks like this year the storms may get pushed NE to the Atlantic coast, not that I'm wishing for you, but we each get our turn.
I'm trying to get ready for water myself as I expect more to come. Reviewing my options now.
Hey Ray, We were in your neighborhood at LLSC last weekend for the C-22 only Gone with the Wind Regatta. Rained both days but we did get in 5 races. What a wake-up call! 23 in gold fleet and 10 in silver on Sat., down to 18 and 5 on Sun. Got our butts kicked real good trying to race against 3 former national champions and 1 team heading for the next Olympic Games! Got soaked but had a great time.
Ray, back in the late 90's when CA had El Nino, we had water up to our garage door. It was very scary, I can't image what you all have gone thur back there. My thoughts go out to you. Steve A
Heck, we were fine, I live on a hill. My Frlfrnd had a flooded basement but it is not a problem, just a sump pump job.
Just last Thursday up on Lake Lanier I anchored out with no wind and we swam and lounged in the water to the most beautiful sunset. Claimed to be working on the boat but it was too hot and still to be dumpster diving so we swam instead.
Atlanta on the whole took a flood. I had an outdoor wedding to shoot on Friday evening the weekend it rained at Powder Springs, which is the area that had the most flooding (10 inches ). The wedding had no rain and wonderful light on Friday and POURING rain the day before and after. The wedding party claimed they were in with the Lord and I believe um.
I went down to Eufaula for the weekend that the LLSC C22 regatta was held. Sunny and beautiful on Lake Eufaula. I've got the Gone with the Wind Regatta on my calendar for next year, I love to see it.
