I took LeeBitts out of the water this past Friday (this was my second time doing this). Last spring, I rigged up an A-Frame which made putting the mast up and taking it down pretty easy. I'm down to one last hurdle of getting the boat out of the water, that is the part of getting it out of the water! The ramp I go down is pretty steep but still requires me to use a 20 ft tongue extender on the trailer to keep the truck out of the water. The problem I am having is that when I pull the trailer and the boat out of the water that the bow does not stay tight with the roller, consequently the boat comes aft in the trailer. This makes for low tongue weight and the forward pads are on the hull, not on the bottom (as they should be). This year I tried attaching lines to the aft end of the trailer then led them over the transom to the primary winches. When the boat was in position I cranked down on them to get the stern to "sit down". That did not work very well. I'm thinking that for next year I should attach an eye bolt to the bow and run that somehow to a winch to get the bow in the right place. Any suggestions would be great.
Sad to see the season over :(

Hi Jim, Thanks for that. If you get a chance can you take a picture of that? It may be the way that my trailer is setup but it looks like it will be awkward to get things to go properly.
Sure. I know my trailer is not "stock", so the configuration will likely differ. But happy to post a pic.
Went thru my pics here at work, none show the bow eye, will check at home tonight, otherwise not sure when I'll next be at the boat (forecast for snow for the final regatta this weekend, WONderful...).
