I noticed some drips coming from around the front hatch when it was raining the other day and took a close look. The weatherstrip around the hatch is intact, but I had never realized that the back (stern) edge of the hatch is arched and doesn't meet up with the weatherstrip.
Usually the water just runnels out forward through the drain channels but nothing to keep it out in a downpour or if heavy chop is blowing up over the front of the boat (I've been in weather where the water makes it all the way back to the cockpit in sheets).
What is supposed to go there to fill that gap? It was large enough to put my little finger in.
