As part of the re-fit & upgrade on my 'new' 1977 SR/FK I've acquired an Autohelm ST1000 tiller unit. The condition is somewhat dubious, but the price was worth the gamble. The reputation of the ST1000 was enough to convince me to give it a try.
However, before using, I would like to have it checked out by a good service tech. Does anyone out there know of a decent service facility out here on the West Coast, preferably SoCal where I am based ?? I am also going to be in need of a manual. Any thoughts there ??
Like most other things, I am trying to do this w/ least expenditure of boat units, but given it's purpose I don't think duct tape & baling wire will be acceptable. Anxiously awaiting a FLOOD of replies !!
