As many know, I'm a member of the US Power Squadron. It is an interesting organization, and it mainly involves educational courses on boater safety, navigation techniques and a load of new 2 hour seminars on topics like using a GPS, Charting Basics, Boat Handling Under Power, Sail Trim and several other useful topics.
Recently, the Organization has been trying to update its image [not just a bunch of old white guys in naval suits with epilets and gold ropes]
We've adopted a social networking site called www.Sailangle.com, which has a lot in common with Facebook, with LinkedIn and has a forum. It supports subgroups and the US Power Squadron is one.
It also has a map of where you live (more or less by town) or Lat/Long.
Again, I don't see the immediate use of it, but according to the Squadron, it will become the means that members communicate with each other, and that the National organization communicates with members.
We'll see . . .

David, Somehow, the period at the end of the sentence got captured and turned into a comma. Your link works fine. You can find me as Bruce Ross in Stratford CT.
In this forum, I always leave a space between a URL and a period ending a sentence--that avoids the problem. Or you can use the button. First, copy the URL, change the Format Mode to Prompt, highlight a word or phrase in your post, and then click the button and paste the URL.
