Once the idea enters your mind it is next to impossible to get rid of it... Winter was still months away but already you toy with the "what ifs, hows and whens", until during a casual conversation, you run it by your commodore whose instant response is "let's do it". Next thing, you see the date entered on the calender. November and half of December we're back with C250 Someday Lady in the balmy weather of the south part of the USA...

Then Dave Bennett Mainsheet's contributing editor e-mails to encourage that if we do go to make sure to photo document preparation, the road trip, transition to water, your adventures ashore and afloat, especially with other C-25/250's. And here we are... in the boat in a marina, with internet service provided, soaking up the warm sunshine, once again avoiding winterizing the boat. We'll keep you posted!!

The South part of the USA is pretty vague. Let me know if your travels bring you to New Orleans.

I lived in SD for about 15 years, and when it's gloomy & rainy like it's been here in the PNW for the past month, I really miss the 330 days of sunshine down there per year. Unfortunately I only got to sail down there maybe five times total.

I guess if I said California I'd have gotten it first... I was too specific--looking for a place "a little south" of the SD Bay marina at Harbor Island that looks like that. Say hi to Jim B! I believe he's on L in Marina Village.

Henk, I sent you an email. I want you to know what is going on.

Dec. 6 is the San Diego All Catalina Association holiday dinner at Silver Gate Yacht club. You can be my guests at the dinner if you want, but I need to know ASAP. Its $25/person for Prime Rib or Salmon.

Dec. 12 is the Mission Bay Yacht Club holiday boat parade of lights. Indiscipline and family will be rafting up to watch the parade. We'd love to have Someday Lady join us. Its a voyage of all of about 10 minutes from your slip. Starts at dark. We eat dinner in the raft up and have pot luck desert. Dress warm!

Jan. 1 I still don't have crew for the New Year's Day race and I'd love to have you on board Indiscipline. It's over in San Diego Bay, of course.

Wed. Jan. 6 will be the San Diego All Catalina Association monthly meeting and dinner at Silver Gate Yacht Club. I'd love to have you as my guests. If you want to give a computer slide show of your last voyage, dinner and drinks will be free (on the club).

Later in January the Cabrillo race series starts (4 offshore ocean races) - I'll be crewing on a Cat 36. Indiscipline will be racing 1/23 in the first San Diego All Catalina race of the year.

Lots going on in this - best sailing of the year - season.

Jim: We're thrilled to be on the water in San Diego again... We just love being here in the sunshine and enjoy the sailing as well as a multitude of other activities this area offers. Thank you so much for making us welcome and inviting us to Dec/Jan. events. We would be happy to participate and will e-mail you personally.
