I love one of the responses to viewing this video:

"Actually this is common; when there's no room, we must"create" one!"

I picked up somewhere that this is a "ship recycling" facility... I guess neither of the ships in view there are going anywhere. Must be exciting for the pilot!

Looks like a breaking yard in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh, and they probably did it on purpose. The guys in the first part don't look concerned or surprised, just expectant. Pretty cool to watch.

Well if they were doing to dismantle that ship as well as the others next to it, then I guess that "Is how you are supposed to do it!"
Steve A
BTW, I saw a show on PBS that showed how they dismantled those ships in India. It was extremely interesting and dangerous to the workers. Many have died for 10 cent daily wages ,especially sad and distressing since many were US ships.

I saw that same show, it was terrifying to see what those guys thought was normal to do while cutting up a ship. Non existent safety gear, using a cutting torch with no dark goggles or face mask. And like Steve said, they get paid next to nothing to do it. The beaches where they do it will be polluted for generations after they stop work.

Nothing odd to me, I'm guessing that the pilot was probably trained as a driver in New York! Isn't that how you park in Brooklyn?

I was on an aircraft carrier way back when it was doing a self parking job. Not an easy maneuver in a Carrier.
We hit the dock bow first. Quite a rumble!

While backing out of a pier in Gitmo, the tug pulling our destroyer around broke free and got slung completely under the pier. The top deck of the pier was the only thing left standing and the stern of the tug went all the way under the pier to the rear of the wheelhouse taking out all the pilings. Fortunately there were no hands on deck, so while spectacular to watch, no one was hurt. There was a hell of a thump when the wheelhouse hit the pier.

That video reminds me of a scene from Jurassic Park (3?) when the boat slams into the dock in San Diego.

Gosh, there's something therapeutic about watching someone else make a bigger mistake than the ones I make.

The first thing that came to mind watching the boat crunching into the docking area was that Godzilla was going to come out from one of the holds.
