Hi,

I hope to haul my boat this weekend and am going to try to make a guide for the keel. I have a home made trailor and centering the darn thing is rather difficult.
Does anyone know the width of the keel when it is fully retracted?

Tim, the <i>fattest</i> part of the keel is ~6 1/2". The distance between the 2"x6" keel guides at the bottom is ~6" and ~15" at the top.

BTW, I find that the keel will center itself almost perfectly everytime if you lower it a couple of turns from the fully retracted position before you pull the boat up the ramp.
