<br />If we can fit 5 more people on here I think we can sink this sucker!
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

A few months ago I saw a C-22 sitting about that low in the water.....but it was being towed in by a Dallas Police boat. It was sinking. They towed it to the lunch ramp and it say there for a day. The two guys on it looked fairly panicked and the boat was very unstable. If one of those guys in this pics steps....wow I guess there is no deck to speak of.

That was actually a picture from the Mac site. They drilled a hole in the bottom to demonstrate it's flotation ability.

http://www.macgregor26.com/safety/safety.htm

But it's still ugly. That's 'Anthem' behind them, one of two 70 foot Macs also with ugly lines.

My brother has one of those MacGregor 26's. The only nice thing I can say about it is I really enjoy the company of my brothers whenever I am aboard.

This picture is from a demonstration that the MacGregor has enough flotation not to sink if swamped. Want to try that with your favorite brand sailboat ?

Most 26' powerboats would struggle to do that. Our "favorite brand sailboat" (25' version) would need at least 100 cubic feet of foam floatation to stay up like that, and it should be right up under the gunwales. One good thing about water ballast is when the boat is swamped, the ballast doesn't contribute to its tendency to sink. Not so with lead or cast iron.

What the....??? Looks like something someone put together as a joke and motors? around like that just for the laughs and looks on peoples faces. Some people have way to much free time! Or maybe it art.

I suspect that it has something to do with a movie or TV show.

The Coast Guard and local marine police might not think it's so funny...

Obviously a traveling show -- but wouldn't he be surprised if he misjudges the tides . . .

That swept-back look gives you a sensation of speed, even when it's sitting still.

Good thing they've got a fender deployed. I'd hate to see that hull get damaged.

You guys gotta get out more. There is nearly a real "WaterWorld" out here in places with real derelicts living on things you wouldn't step on.

Not only out thatta way

. . . . . . Came across this boat the other day.....

And there's the owner - apparently, this guy lives all year long, full time on the boat.

Maybe it should be featured on the show about "Hoarders"?

And this one got my curiosity last week when I saw it out in the Sound

Is this a modified Cat 22?

Bruce, I had a C22 years ago. But I must say my definition of modify is to add to make better. Not sure I would say removing mast and rigging and God knows what else accomplishes that! Looks like they turned it into a little fishing boat.
