Spokeo.com is an online data aggregator. After entering my name and viewing the scarily accurate data, maps & photos, along with humorous yet wildly inaccurate data (who knew my place was worth $1million + or that I had a post graduate degree?). I've removed my data from their database.
If you want to do the same, key in your name and search for yourself. Once you've found it, copy the URL of that page, and go to their privacy page (link's in lower right corner of the page). Paste the URL into the appropriate box, add your email (used to confirm the removal), and you can remove the entry from their database.

I wonder if you've done them a favor by adding your e-mail address to their database?? They have me in there twice (two addresses and different data)--I'll have to drive by the other address and meet the other me!
I looked my name up and It came up with 2 real addresses but everything else was contrived. I would guess David that this is a data collecting site and you just gave them one more piece! You may have removed your info from their site but there's probably a partner site that records THAT info. It's certainly recorded by someone. I don't trust anything I see or hear on the web unless I've confirmed it through my own research.
Remember when Google developed a database that let you google a name and get an address, phone number, and name? "Wired" googled the president of Google and published is phone number and address - produced lot of threats and screaming about lawsuits, but the only thing that happened was that the database disappeared.
They got hold of my facebook page and LinkedIn. They've got me with a connection to the CT State Atty General Richard Bloomenthal and Oil Magnate T.Boone Pickens!
