Its over I can't go forward with my plans for this boat. The wife wants it gone so the dream is dead. 79 C25 swing keel. Sails are decent, 10hp outboard is good, hulls in good shape too. If anyone knows anyone interested, I live in Westchester, NY. Boat needs a good cleaning and some minnor cosmetic work. Will take anything for it. Dry docked at house call 914-907-6350 if interested.
I know your pain. I am almost where you are, but I am going to keep working on the boat because I enjoy that as much as I would be sailing. The wife says sailing is work & the boat is too small. She wants a trawler, a floating house, but can't afford a floating house. Dreams sometime need to start small & grow. Best of luck on the sale of your boat. Pat.
I am sorry to here that my friend. I love working on my boats as well as sailing. Before I got married I asked my wife never to take this away from me.The c25 is not a big boat but it is a affordable boat for a bottom feeder like me. It should not be the size of the boat that matters(lol sound familier)but to maintain practical dreams, you dont need large boats to fufill your dreams.Sailing is more fun when it is cheap and simple easy on the pocket book.Im sorry to hear your pain sailing and boat restoratin has been a great part of my life I hope she will reconsider good luck...
Guess I'm lucky. Wife is fully on board (pun intended! lol) with owning a sailboat. She loves being on the water and camping/sleeping on the boat. My little girl loves it too. We all agree it makes for great family time together. So much so, that we are toying with the idea of naming it Date Night, since that's what time on the boat is for us.

Same here, my wife loves it and I discovered this way before we got married three weeks ago. It was one of those pre-defined requirements. Almost had it inserted into the vows.
We love to camp out on the boat as well, I'm lucky.
Honestly, I feel like I came back from a mini vacation this weekend,a and we only stayed over Saturday night. My 3.5 year old likes it too but we bought one of those 7" DVD players for $56 at Target Sunday for when he gets bored.Throw on some Robots, Bolt or Cars and put him in the quarter berth. We had 30 degrees of heel plus and he was fine in his little nest. It has 2 hour battery life so I need to figure out how to run it off the battery.
I feel like the C-25 is a big boat for her size. I wish I could stand up straight but otherwise she has many features of bigger boats.
The DVD player is key! lol My girl loves being in the cabin anyway. It's like playing house for her. Still made her get out and haul on some lines, tho. And she liked that too.
Sounds like we have the same view on things. We spent the last two Friday nights on the boat and then got up and sailed Saturday. When we first got the boat, we joked that people would probably make fun of us for staying on the boat at the marina. The guy said he was surprised more people don't do it because, "a boat in a slip is the cheapest waterfront property you can buy!" lol
<blockquote id="quote"><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id="quote">quote:<hr height="1" noshade id="quote">actually I should say "Boats" since I have 5.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"> Good to know. Our fleet consisted of a Clipper 21, C-25, dingy, and three kayaks until I sold the Clipper last summer. And since one of the kayaks is our son's, we really only have 4, a much more reasonable number.
