Hi all,

I'm taking a chartered fishing trip tomorrow afternoon out of Oak Harbor on Lake Erie. We'll be on the water from 1:30 till probably 4:30-ish. According to weather.com this morning winds are expected to be from the NW around 10mph.

What should I expect in wave action? Will this be a bumpy ride? Will it be satisfactory for fishing? It's been 25-ish years since I've gone out like this on Erie, the first time seas were mild and I got a Fish Ohio Walleye, the second time we had six-footers and the fishing was garbage.

Anyway, just wondering what to expect. Anytime on the water is excellent.

I'm sure I'm posting this too late to be helpful but, the waves shouldn't be terrible. Right now they're at 1.3 ft with a 3 second dominant wave period. However, although the sun will be shining brightly, the wind chill temperature is worth thinking about. Water temp around 50 and winds at 10 knots can drop the air temp enough to make you wish you had a sweater/jacket.

Should be a great day. I am going up saturday to fish with a friend saturday afternoon and sunday, powerboats do have their uses. We probably have room for another on his boat on Sunday if you want to stay over. We may stay until Monday if the weather and fishing are good. Send me an email (I'm on the flag/staff page) if you are interested and I'll verify it with Dick.

Thanks guys, that's what I was hoping to hear. I do plan on taking at least a jacket due to the lower tempuratures often found on the water. Sadly a stay through Sunday is not in the cards. I do appreciate the offer though, Dave, and wish I could take you up on it.
