Recently had the cable to break while boat was in the slip. Keel swung down and buried in the mud, There were stong winds that day which caused the boat to rock back and forth on the keel eventualy punching a hole in the boat. Came very close to sinking. Boat is on the hard now waiting for repair. Has anyone ever encountered such a problem ? I had a fiberglass expert to look at it and says he can repair it. Any advise ?
Difficulty depends on the nature and location of the hole. If your fiberglass expert is experience with boats there shouldn't be a problem. It wouldn't hurt to check references and find out how he intends to repair it with the estimate.
