When I use to trailer a boat, I always thought you could sit by any ramp with a six pack and a hoagie and have a whole days worth of entertainment. This is entertainment!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqG07IZIgw0& feature=player_embedded#

And you wonder why car insurance is so high!

Don't ever make fun of us rednecks down here in the south. Ya'll might think we tawk kinda funny down here but at least we know to use a boat ramp instead of the beach to launch our boats. And we know how to hook chains/straps together so we don't have half the towns cars flooded out in the water.

We were pulling my SeaRay out of the dry storage stall at the lake one day and all of a sudden we heard all this commotion around the corner at the ramp.

We walked over to see what was happening and there were a bunch of people standing around watching a couple of guys diving down off the end of the ramp. By the time we got ready to launch they had found their pickup in about 30 feet of water.

Turns out they got ready to launch and one guy got in the boat while the other guy back the trailer down the ramp. The guy driving the truck got out to unhook the winch strap and forgot to put the truck in park. The rest was history.

We came back a little later and there was a wrecker pulling the truck and trailer out of the water. We went back out and rode around for five or six more hours before heading back in for the day. About the time we got back to the dock these two guys were firing up the pickup. A few minutes later they put the boat back on the trailer and headed for home.

While we were out they had pulled all the spark plugs and pumped the water out of the motor with the starter then changed the oil and were able to get it started.

I know it sounds like BS but I swear it happened. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.

The beaches are really nice down there - these guys shoulda stayed on them.

My neighbour has a 16 HP Massey Fergussen from 1940-something that I am convinced could do about anything. Tractors are so underrated.

Well, at least it wasn't salt water pouring out of his doors. Wonder if his power windows still work?

Tractors have the pulling power with the granny gears but don't always have the needed traction. It was a tough pull to get my MacGregor 26-D up a concrete ramp. It weighed just 2800 pounds when the water ballast was full. With the hitch on the front of the tractor there was not enough weight on the rear drive wheels unless a couple of hefty guys stood on the back mounted mower.
