Carol and I got out the inlet yesterday. It was my best day out yet. Carol took the helm at least 50% of the time and was ecstatic! She captained Bamboo out the inlet at 2 kt (incoming tide) in medium chop and did a fine job. We had 3 to 6 foot sets with maybe 2 foot seas that were quite close together because of a 10 to 15 steady east wind. Made an early return so as to miss the outgoing tide and were able to sail back in the inlet, which is rare, and then totally kicking a*s wing on wing mostly with a South wind switching to SE later and an average hull speed of probably 6 kts. the 9 miles home on the Intercoastal Waterway. Just a stellar day! Here's a few short videos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbZYuv4BLfg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qak8IawQHVU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S51vAVmcVDY
