Well Saturday 14th was spectacular! Perfect wind, Perfect temp, Perfect day- We clocked off 41 Nautical miles to give us a total of 609 for the season so far. I hope today ( Sun) is the same.
Bruce, I kinda felt betrayed by the weatherman on Sun. but the wind was there so we went out from 10am to 2pm. I enjoy a cloudy day on the water,Sara even said how the cloud formations were rather pretty. Besides it keeps the powerboats at the dock.
the Sat sailing conditions were interesting -- a rare day for winds from the NE shifting to E then to SE. Sailed from Norwalk to Cold Spring Harbor in short time surfing some but heading back was rough with the waves rolling in from the east. Around CSH waves/chop were two to three foot -- closer to the Connecticut side (partially blocked by land) they were more normal one to two feet. Great sailing and a reminder of how dry the 25 is when healing and in a chop. Sailed through (actually behind) a race from Stamford YC -- all large keel boats (J105's etc) all with full sail, all healing at what looked like 30 degrees. A beautiful day!
Friday's sail was good with a couple gals from work. They asked if they could come sailing if they hit all their goals at work, which they did. Awesome to be able to use sailing as a spiff.
knotmeter is fouled, we were cutting! The skipper being silly!
I don't think I would ever get (or want to see) the gals I work with in bikinis... It takes a brave man to take his shirt off for co-workers!
BTW, peter, can I borrow your spinnaker? We are going out tonight to the red barn to celebrate my birthday and mine didn't come in. It was LIGHT last night and took for ever sailing back. Would have been nice to set the kite.

Not a problem either way if you're full. It's in the V berth.

I don't think Mr. Powers should be at the helm without his full makeup on. Do Blonds have more fun, or is that just Texans??
Isn't that him? Top right???? <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">

Let me check with the Admiral and see how many she has coming. She just told me to show up at the boat and not ask any questions. It may be she and I and a bottle of Mount Gay or she could have invited a boat load. Either way, she better have rum!
Ya know, You's guys in Texas had better cheer up or your out a here! Better gas up the engine, looks REAL light tonight.
Yeah, I know... NOAA says North Winds 5 to 10, Accuweather says East winds 5 to 10, Sailflow says 3 to 5 out of the south east, and finally, my iPhone windfinder app says 1 to 5kts out of the north east... not sure who to trust... I guess it will be swirling. I will put up your chute and watch my windex spin at the top of the mast and if by some chance we bump the harbor, we will get some cajun food at Dodies or maybe a mojito at glorias...

Doesn't Primos have that margarita special? I'm probably just chilling at home tonight, save my strength for the race tomorrow.
Yes, they do ave $2 margaritas but i hear it is really shollow over there right now. That guy with the red San Juan said he was bumping his rudder with the keel up and ended up hitting the dock hard. When we left last night, the cleat from the dock at Bass Pro was still attached to his mooring line. Not sure if he knows how to operate a boat, but I don't want to chance it and forced a visit from lake patrol.
I need a depth meter. I have been trying to find that toilet wax ring thread...
