Wish I could make this better, but unfortunately it's worse.
Saturday we were having a nice sail and we had just dipped the rail in the water when *RIP* . Yep, right at the foot and the clew I have a nice rip running parallel to the boom. Took the main down immediately and ran head sail alone which was slow as hell but at least it gave me time for a scotch on the rocks and a nice cigar.
Peter, you can thank that harken magic box outhaul for that! I have heard of guys breaking their booms with those! Just tell everyone you have a loose footed main... its faster anyway! I always easy my outhaul before storing the main... wish I had an extra! BTW, you should see the spinn I got. It is crispy and ready for the fall series!
There I was, There I was... Tornadoes spinning on the horizon, the Marina had just exploded and a raging fire was consuming the docks. Over the radio they were hailing a 12yo, rusting at sea. Man Eating Sharks I tell ya, and the main had ripped the foot...
