Somebody remind me to get my lock cutter back on board. Kinda like those wooden bungs I kept forgetting for years. I've got the bungs, now the Universal Key.

Ray, don't forget to put your lock cutter back on board! LOL Hey, I'll be down in your neck of the woods in a few weeks for the Gone With The Wind Regatta at Lake Lanier Sailing Club. This is a Catalina 22 only event, and there are already 43 boats entered. Last year it rained all weekend, hope this year is better. If you come out to watch, I'll look for you and wave. I'm crewing for a friend.
Cool... I'll try to get out. My boat has no numbers on the sail, that is how you spot it. I'll set my marine radideo to monitor 16 and 69. You can shout out on 69.
I'm supposto do a bike ride the 18th, Saturday ( which ends at the Budweiser Brewery ), and I may go to the boat that afternoon/evening, and see the 22s on Sunday.
Lock cutters are good, but usually not strong enough to cut through rigging without a lot of effort. I like those round cotter pins and/or cut the cotter pins and hammer out the pin. You'll free up you rigging in a hurry that way. Otherwise, there is always this fun toy....
We usta keep hack saw blades on board, using the vice grips for a handle. I've got an old turnbuckle at home so I thought I'd try my small bolt cutter on it tonight, get back to you on Friday. Good Suggestion cutting the pins.
I always forget the name of the cotter rings. I'd probably be out on the deck flailing away with the UK on the cable if the rig came down, it would shake me up so...
We use toggle pins on the forward lowers and forestay on the C-22, makes raising and lowering a lot easier. And clevis pins with cotter rings on the other turnbuckles.
