I cannot figure out how to use the SD card that has Lake Michigan on it, in my nuvi 1350. Can anybody tell me how to do this? It came with no instructions and I can't find any on the web. I can buy millions of them but can't find one page of instructions. Many Thanks, Dan

Found this on page 24, it makes me wonder what is it compatible with? I'll keep fighting with it. I'm afraid a slick salesman sold this to my wife and told her it would work, and it won't. Thanks Dave,

The Garmin GPSMap 640 is essentially Nuvi 5000 hardware with two separate operating systems--one for roads and one for water--for a lot more money. The data each OS works with is different (roads versus charts), as is the functionality they provide (road routing versus chart navigation). You essentially boot it up in one or the other systems. My 276C is similar, except it's one "operating system" that runs in two distinct "modes"--again for using different kinds of data and providing distinctly different sets of functions and screen layouts.
I haven't seen any evidence that the Nuvi line is intended to do that.
Thanks everybody. Garmin responded to my questions about this and it turns out that one needs to disable City Navigation and re-boot. It then boots off the SD card.
