My new (to me) C-25 Std suffered storm damage in 1998 which took out the main mast and all the topside bright-work. Insurance replaced it, but whomever did the repair failed to install the topside lamps, just left the wire ends taped to the tubes topside and left the one wire I've found hanging loose in the port cockpit storage.

I've installed the stern and pulpit position lights (that's how I found out there was no power!), but I can't locate the bow wiring anywhere.

It appears to go to the port side stansions, but dosen't show anywhere below.

Is there someone with a 78 model who has found the location of the pulpit power supply wiring? Is it somewhere in a raceway or something I haven't found.

long story short... run all new stranded wire, get a new power panel while you are at it.

If your talking about the bow (fish-eye) lights the wiring is encased between the upper deck and lower deck and exits in the rear port portion of the anchor locker. If you cannot see it you will need to run new wire. You cannot run it through the same space as the previous wire as Catalina sealed the wire in when they attached the upper and lower section together.

And those fish-eye running lights are pretty useless - too low and not bright enough. So the real question becomes, how do I run a new electric lead for the bow lights. Chances are very high that you will not be able to pick up these wires anywhere apart from where they go into the fuse box. So run a new line - 14 gauge minimum - of two wires from the fuse box. Drill a little hole in the upper corner of the kitchen bulkhead and lead the wire through there and along the top of the teak trim, another little hole through the bulkhead to the potty, and another through the bulkhead to the front berth, then along the trim again until you get to the outside of the anchor locker. Drill another little hole (seal this one) and lead the wires to where the bow pulpit upright attaches to the deck.
At this point you can get fancy or quick. The fancy way is to drill a hole directly under a bow pulpit stanchion, lead the wire up through the stanchion and out to the new Agua Signal bow light you get from Catalina Direct (http://www.catalinadirect.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=284&ParentCat=161 ) don't forget the mounting bracket. Now you have a new wire and a new navigation light that will actually be seen.
