I have an idea for an improved winch design, and need one or two winches to modify. A winch that an owner has removed and replaced during maintenance is what I'm looking for. I will take care of transportation, etc., and you can maybe help improve a great boat, as well as recycle. Please give me a call if you haven't already disposed of yours. 734-461-6846.

Anyone out there replaced their C25 swing keel winch, and kept the old one around for "spare parts?" I'm willing to pay for your trouble and shipping, and it will give a retired engineer something to do this winter! 734-461-6846.

Nobody out there maintaining their swing keels lately? Looks like the C25 SK fleet might be shrinking a bit next season....

I am replacing mine EXCEPT it is a rusted hulk. The spool is rusted through. Being the inquisitive sole I am, I took it apart to see how it works.

I'm trying to find one that is complete (and still assembled), that I can take measurements of all components as they are removed. I hope to eliminate a couple of failure modes, and get out some cost. Thanks for the input. Anyone else going over theirs in the off season? Please email or give me a call.
