I am proud to say that I was shipmates, and friends with these guys ten years ago on a tallship. At that time, standing watch at 4am or hauling lines in the heat of the day, they would tell me of their plans to build a cargo sailing ship and develop an eco-friendly /economically profitable shipping business. They now have three boats with a fourth in the works.
What a surprising development! It's hard to believe they can compete as they say, but I'd like to see one of those modern sail transport ships heading in to port!
Now thats slicker 'n seal snot in an ice flow. Are they hiring? Not sure if I'd be allowed to go off onthe 7 seas, but it would be a pretty awesome way to make a living. Good on them!
I just found out that they are currently in the Atlantic enroute to America and will be sailing and delivering cargo in the Caribbean during most of the winter months. I am trying to make arangements to meet up with them somewhere along the way.
