Had a story come to me about another widow with a sailboat. I think I have helped prepare and help sell seven similar owned sailboats and yesterday evening while returning home saw this boat along the road on a trailer. It was the one I had helped with about 2 years ago for a widow who then couldn't let it go. The sailor pulled it out of her yard after making a very good deal and was putting lights on the trailer. I stopped and we exchanged stories and I helped him get it ready to travel. The widow who knew the sailor and his family was very happy to make a deal as she knew the boat would be in good hands. The lady had enjoyed her sailing with her husband and keeping it close she was able to keep the memory. The boat was not being taken care of so she was able to let go. I wanted to share this event as it has a happy ending. I sail for a lot a friends.
Scares me a little. My last three boats have been purchased from owners who died shortly after. One died of a cancer, another of a heart attack, and a third of a pneumonia from cancer treatment. I just retired. Help!!
