Tom Curran came up from Patrick Air Force Base and went sailing with Carol and me yesterday. He wanted to check out my UK Halsey loose footed main and internal outhaul. To my surprise the outhaul was jammed (hadn't used it since installation) but he loved the sail with the big roach! Tom and his bud Bill are great guys, Had a nice day out.

It's funny you say that. When we first got on the boat Carol thought Tom looked like somebody we know and I said, "no, but he looks a little like a young Jimmy Buffet!"
Regarding your jammed outhaul, mine did the same when first installed. The problem was with long screws in the boom. The block and tackle would hang up on them and the outhaul wouldn't funtion. I removed all the screws which may have caused the problem and removed a few threads with a Dremel cutting tool, then reinstalled. I haven't had a problem since.
I have the same problem and no time to do anything. I took my boom home with the idea of checking the screw lengths. I put it on storage and haven't thought of it since the first snow. Thanks for reminding me.
