32 deg wow that is hot ???? Ahh!! is that in the old system . 32 deg F then that is really cold .. Great summer here 24deg -30 deg C ( Think around 80 F,s) but with a cool sea breeze each afternoon 15 Kn .
We have our annual Kasmikazi Regatte this Sunday, a one day event usually followed by copious amounts of hot chili. Forecast currently is for 37degree highs and rainy. I can handle 37degrees (we chipped ice off the boat one year in order to race - I crewed on a C-27) but I'm not too thrilled to do that cold in the rain. We'll look at it again tomorrow afternoon.
DavidP - turn the cold to your advantage. Make a potful of hot buttered rum before the regatta and give it to your competitors in copious amounts such that they are adequately warmed up for the event.
Actually, dealing with cold water, I hope your skippers and their crews are smart enough to wait until after the race for a drink or two.
Of course the Hot buttered rum is still a great warmup, even if you save it as incentive to go fast.
Don't own either one. I'll be wearing long johns and jeans under foulies. Just have to be very careful not to go overboard. The hot buttered rum is a good idea", though, for after racing!
There's a J22 at our marina named "Hot Ruddered Bum", owned by the local J22 dealer who regularly races her. He has Scottish heritage and wears a kilt to club parties from time to time, but not while racing. That wouldn't be very pretty!
Patrick, my little joke seems to have hijacked your thread. I'm sorry.

I am originally from Pittsburgh and I know what cold is. My point was it is too cold to have a comfortable sail and I am still looking for a cruising spinnaker.
Where was that Florida property again? Do I want to sweat through a hurricane or shiver through a whiteout? Damn these questions are tough.
I assume you have already searched Bacon and all the other used sail lofts, right? Unless you are racing and need class measurements, there are a lot of "close fits" that would be fine for a cruising chute. Likely you could find one on there. Otherwise, I think its craigslist. I haven't seen a lot of sails come up on here lately. Then again, I haven;t been looking for one either.
