What is this boat? It sure looks like a Catalina product but I have never heard of a Capri V-21.

I, too, saw that on ebay a week or so ago. All indications point to it being a Catalina Yachts product, maybe a limited production run or a model that didn't do well in the marketplace. Bow looks a little like a C22, except for the bow cleat in the middle. One pic shows a Catalina id plate and sail #655, so they made a bunch of them.

Victory 21, but built and sold by Coronado yachts under Frank Butler as one of their first boats as the Capri 21. Supposed to be a very sweet sailer and was very popular in school fleets and one design racing.

Interesting swept-back keel design. As a side note, the trailer for our C22 is a Wesco brand.

This was the boat that started Frank Butler in business. As I recall reading, he ordered a Victory 21, was promised delivery by a certain date. When that date came and passed without a boat -- even being started -- Frank spoke to the company owners and was allowed to take control and built his boat himself. He became enthralled with the boat building business from that experience, bought the Victory tooling (or company) and started Wesco (AKA Coronado), and as they say "the rest is history . . .."
