Enka (1989 Diesel C25 WK/TR, 2542) was sold last weekend after a few months on the market. Unfortunately we moved away and outgrew the boat (# of family members) at the same time. So I will lurk here for a while.
Nadi, I recall looking at her years ago in Southport when she was for sale. I passed on her because I needed a trailer. Are you looking for another boat?
Welcome to the Admiralty! As I probably said before, if this group tolerates an alumnus who's gone over to the Dark Side, they'll welcome the "temporarily" boatless--it's no sin compared to mine... And besides, everything's temporary--especially being boatless for a sailor! (And I still sail at every opportunity!)

Yes Tom, that is the boat. The new owner from TX actually showed with an empty trailer in NC and drove back the next morning.
We decided now is not a good time for boat maintenance (small kids, wife new job and probably relocating in a few years, me looking for a job) so we'll apply annual boat costs to charters for a few years (plus then we can see what kinda boat we like; the admiral thinks she will not be sea-sick in a catamaran, I have my doubts). In the meantime I am hoping to build a plywood dinghy in the garage; could be my tender some day.
Hi to all: I purchased Nadi's C25 and brought her back to North Texas. I have been busy with work & family as well as getting acquainted with Enka. She is on a trailer, to be rechristened as Promise, in my driveway. We have been making a few improvements and doing a little maintenance, replacing cracked cabin windows, repainting the bottom, getting another 150 Genoa (or repairing the old one if possible). Minor stuff includes a 2nd marine battery, Cookmate non-pressurized alcohol stove, insert for the bilge pump, bow and stern lights, putting a few stitches in the Bimini, and a new master cylinder for the trailer brakes. I am becoming good friends with CD & WM while my wife comments, the only water that boat is seeing is rain water.
Welcome to the forum to you and your family, Doug! One of the great things about the C25 is that there are so many of them, and you can access a lot of information about sailing and maintaining them just by logging on here, not to mention the fact that we try to entertain each other during the long winters. Enjoy!
Doug, Congratulations and welcome. You'll find a lot of information here. You should consider becoming a member of the Association. Just $22/yr and that helps keep this site going.
Thanks to all! I did get to join the Assoc. We will be learning to sail Promise on Lake Arlington, near Fort Worth. It is only about 10-minutes from our house. There is a great yacht club at the Lake we have joined with a lot of great people. You can keep your boat on the dry there with ramps within a few feet. Before I ever thought that I really needed a C-25, when we used to sail our little Dolphin, I thought that only rich people sailed the Yachts. Through the Catalina Forums, through the experiences, hopes and dreams as well the disappointments shared by so many I came to realize that owning a bigger boat was possible. My goal is to learn to sail well enough to do a Summer adventure (inter coastal waterway) coastal cruise from TX to FL?? with my 11-year old son before he gets really smart and figures out that Dad is not so smart. In the mean time we are enjoying working on the boat and looking forward to our 1st big sail (well maybe motoring around a bit first).
