We are in slip F6 at the Schilshole marina just outside the Ballard Locks Seattle Washington. If your in the area drop by for a cold one. Need any help on local info drop us a line. San Juan Islands info and all points south. Great sailing in all of the Puget Sound. dgyoung_2000@yahoo.com
This picture will be useful the next time we have a debate about what makes a blue-water boat. There's your full keel, for directional stability in big seas. There's your keel-hung rudder, for strength to handle the lateral forces from wave action. There's your propeller guarded by the keel. And then, of course, it is 51 feet long...
and a great big tip of the hat to anyone who can dock this ocean liner in a crosswind
Please send us more pics so we can drool a little.
There is a Coast Guard museum in Seattle with records of my Dad's ship in WWII. I was thinking I may come out someday to do some research. Have you ever been to this museum?

motoring back from survey at the dock in Tacoma prior to moving to Shilshole Seattle Shilshole F dock. Come visit us.
By the way Yes Angelique is big. Im not rich. Just a working stiff with a diferent life style. No house, we live aboard. You can to all you need to do is make it happen.
With regards to the remark about who docks the boat and in a cross wind. "My wife does" You should see people on the dock when Ruth pulls into a marina. You can hear them from across the water."Oh my God there's a woman at the helm" any it's always easy to get a hand on the dock. All you have to do is hit something LOL.
Angelique is the culmination of our dreams. I use to think my previous boats were a lot of upkeep. Im just glad we live aboard or I would never have any free time. Rebuild the head and remodel compartment, replace windlass, install easy jacks, epoxy and revarnish exterior wood, install new oven, unplug drains, fix and chase leaks, new table, new LCD TV, on and on. And thats besides the regular maintenance. Re finishing the teak will take the project through several years doing one area at a time. The one thing that makes it all nice is you can cruise somewhere for the weekend, sit out in the sun with a cold beer and some good music then do the work. (Summer time naturaly) Interior projects for now.

Just in time to start at the beginning again. Sounds like my house, but prettier!
Well here we are in May and the weather is still cold and wet. We have had a few days of sun but nothing like previous years. Coldest spring in years. We have had two dock parties and have been out twice. I started some wood work yesterday and sure enough it rained today and turned cold. Oppening day in Seattle found everyone on the log boom out in the rain and cold too. Sure glad the boat is big enough for indoor projects. New shelf, new flat screen TV, new oven, rewire the lights and repack the propshaft, work on the cannon.
Doug I really hope all is ok and you weren't forced into this because of one of those "life challenges". If it's a deliberate choice maybe you could enlighten us on the situation? The reason I'm asking is that my wife and I want to do the same and I'd like to know about the good and the bad before making such a decision.
Yep I have had Angelique for sale for a few months. My wife and I are looking at a Hardin 45. Deposit down. We are begining to plan a cruise to Europe. Down the west coast ( Baja ha ha ) down to Panama and throught the canal. A season in the Bahamas up to Bermuda the Azores and over to Portugal / Spain and North. We are two years out due to the stock market but still on trac. If Angelique doesn't sell we will take her to Europe with additional crew. Line forms to the rear . We are all well and not being forced to sell. We are still in Schilshole marina in Seattle and loving it.
And so another season begins. This years big event. Lats and Atts cruising party at Poulsbo Washington. Second weekend of August. http://www.latsandatts.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11801 and we will also be present as the Seafair Pirates invade Alki beach July 11th about 10:30 A.M.
