Ok, gonna put my 2 cents in.Namely, the engine I bought for mine after
much research.....SUZUKI! Got the 9.9 4 stroke. With long shaft, electric start and alt.Weight is only average, price was above average...BUT...in case you havent heard one run( key word here is HEAR it) it's about THE quietest 4 stroker out there. Go find one and listen to it....can't hear it if you're on the bow....

Duane,

I have a friend who bought a Nisson 8 HP 4-stroke. It has the alternator, electric start, etc, and a "power prop" (????). I'm not sure what she meant by the power prop but she says it provides more than enough power to push her C25 in most conditions. She loves it and glad she bought it. I can provide her address/phone/email if you would like. My email is aeckhart@chartermi.net.

Al... If Nissan makes an 8 hp 4-stroke, it must be new--they don't admit to it on the Web. Also, Nissan/Tohatsu/Mercs (same engine) 9.9s only have 20" shafts and weigh more than Hondas (28") and Yamahas (25"). If a C-25 starts pitching a little, a 20" shaft won't keep the prop in the water.
