I could use some help here. My "new" laptop uses Vista and I can't find the equivalent option for "Copy image location" that I used under Windows XP in my other computer. What command do I use to set up the pic so the Association forum software can find and display it?

I'm not finding the "Copy Image URL" command. I've read the new write-up in the Testing section and followed it. But I must have missed a step, because I had to go back and manually type the img header and footer and the brackets. It worked, but it was cumbersome.
To get the URL of any image displayed in a Vista Browser window: Put the mouse over the required image. Right click the mouse. Select 'Copy Image URL' (that puts the url into your clipboard)
Now move to the place you wish to include that url (ie in the <img>puturlhere</img>
So, put your mouse inside the <img></img> tag pair and right click select Paste.
Cannot show the square braces in these instructions, so replace the < and > with square braces :)
The button in the header of the box where you compose your post will put the [ img ] and [ /img ] tags into your post. Leave a blank line before and after them. Then you can right-click between them and select <b>Paste</b>, or put the cursor between them and press <b>Ctrl-V</b> (which is "paste").
Nice pic Dave. Sorry to hijack this but I was just thinking, I've seen several exterior shots of Sarge but none of the cabin. Could you exercise your copy URL and paste expertise and show me a few pics of Sarge's interior?
I use vista at home, but my problem with images lies in Firefox, not the OS. I find it much easier to import images when using Internet exploder, which I don't care for, for just about everythign else. What browser are you using to cruise the web - forgive me if Vista has some inherent browser I am not familiar with, in my small mind, Vista is an operating system.

I use Google Chrome, which is what gives me the right-click options including <b>Copy image URL</b>. To remind myself of the bad old days, I went into IE and found that I had to right-click the photo, select <b>Properties</b>, highlight the <b>Address (URL)</b>, making sure to get the whole thing (you might have to scroll), right-click that, and select <b>Copy</b> (or press <b>Ctrl-C</b>). Good ole Microsoft... Their programmers think that's simple.
Aw, c'mon Dave, all you have to do once you are in the properties screen is double - no, triple - no, double - WTF, click like a madaman till the whole thing is highlighted on the image location, copy, and then come here and paste it in the img tags.

It is a hijack, but I wouldn't want to start a <i>Sarge</i> thread on this forum...

Looking down the companionway--head (with curtain) on right, obscuring the starboard side of the v-berth (filler not visible)... Headroom is about 5'9"--barely enough for me. (Those are faux-flooring samples lying on the sole.)
Small head--one appliance only (tank under seat, pressure-water driven, with pumpout and macerator)...
Mirror and portlights above galley on port (looking aft)...
The upper cockpit area under the hardtop also encloses with canvas, making it part of the "interior" (with a lot more headroom), as shown below. Showers can be taken there, with a Sun-shower lying on the hardtop.
She sleeps only two, but parties 10. <b>[ /hijack ]</b> (Sorry, David!)

No problem re: the hijack. Nice to see shots of sarge's interior. Looks like a fun boat.
I'm using Firefox, not IE, as my primary browser, and I don't get the "Copy image URL" option, just Copy. Anyway, I've figured out how to get it to work. Thanks, guys.
Edit: I finally found the camera that contains the "after" shots from repainting the bottom of Recess. I'm going to post them with some of the "before" shots in a new thread here in the General forum. we'll see how it goes.
Well, it worked very well. Here are the steps: 1. I posted some text in a thread, pressed enter, and went back and opened it up using the edit button. change the format mode from Basic to Prompt and put the cursor on a new line. 2. Open Shutterfly in a new window, or have it already open and toggle to it, so you can toggle between them and bring up the picture you want to link to the thread here. 3. Right click on the photo, select Properties, put the cursor on the URL in the properties window and highlight the entire URL. Right click on the highlighted URL and left click on Select All. Right click on the still highlighted URL again and left click on Copy. Left click OK to close the properties window. 4. Toggle to the thread already in edit mode. Make sure your format mode is still on Prompt and your cursor is on a new line. Left click the button to the right of the envelope button (landscape?) in the header. This will bring up a window with "http:" already highlighted. Press the back space key to delete the "http:", then press CRTL-V and enter. This will put the URL in place of "http:" and post it AND the (img) markers at the same time. If you don't get the pop-up window, look for a yellow warning bar at the top of the window, click it and temporarily accept the message.
This is <i>Recess</i>. The rope along the hull is a 100 ft. 3/8" line attached to the trailer winch stand and goes to each genoa winch to keep the boat snugged up to the bow roller at haulout. It also runs from the genoa cleats down to the trailer frame to act as temporary tie downs.
David: I think you made that harder than it needs to be.
1. However you can "copy" the picture URL in your browser, just do it... (It doesn't matter what else is open or active at the time--the URL will be in the Windows clip-board for the rest of your session.)
2. Click the (Insert Image) button in the post header. This puts <b>[ img ]</b> and <b>[ /img ]</b> into your post.
3. Paste (right-click or Ctrl-V) the URL between the <b>[ img ]</b> and <b>[ /img ]</b>.
Thanks. I see what you mean. Also, I just realized something else that I've been doing. I usually use the quick reply box, which I'm doing now and it doesn't have any of the buttons. That's why I've gotten into the habit of entering text first, posting, and then going into edit the post to enter a picture.

In Firefox it's right click on the image and select 'Copy Image Location' I did that for the pic of the magazine on the home page. here's the url http://www.mainsheet.net/cover_front_current.gif
I use Flickr, and you just have to find the correct text string to use for the photo's URL. It takes a few tries to find the proper information to copy and paste.
