I have an 85 Catalina 25 and I need to replace the bulbs in both my steaming light and anchor light. I am planning on dropping the mast on Friday to accomplish this task and hope to be able to pick up some replacement bulbs so that I can drop it, replace the bulbs and raise it back up all in one afternoon. Does anyone know which bulbs I need? I was hoping to pick up the replacement bulbs at west marine. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Assuming it is an Aqua Signal Deck/Steaming light combination:

Bulb BA 9s Halogen 12V 20W

Bulb Special 90200 12V 10W

I do not think my steaming light is an aqua-signal. It appears to be the older light with a circular (half sphere) shaped lens.

Upgrade your lenses are probably crazed anyway.

On another note...

Grab a friend and a 9V battery and see if you can get teh lights to light up by supplying current at teh base of the mast.

Then you can decide whether you need to buy bulbs, bulbs and wires, or bulbs, wires, and a fixture before you drop the mast.

If you have the money and time right now, you should really just replace the whole lamp, wiring, and bulbs. It's not that expensive or hard to do. Just takes a little time. But it's totally worth it so you don't have to drop the mast again.
