Hello Everyone, I am not sure what the root cause of the problem is here, but the hinged hatch is lower such that it is putting stress on the forward (non hinged) part of the hinge. I can fix it by adding a washer under the hinge to raise it up but I would like to understand what has worn out and is making the hatch lower (minimally).
Yep, that is a problem for us too. If you step on the hinged (forward) edge of the hatch, then the stress will break the screws out of the fiberglass. Already had to repair ours.
I solved the problem by placing a rubber strip, it's about 1/2" thick, under the leading edge of the hatch in the drainage channel. Now if I step on the hatch, that strip distributes the stress.
