The discount with Online Outboards is not on the "forum" it is in the "members" area, separate password needed. It is one of the many advantages of being an Assoc. member. Registering on the forum is open and free to all. That was done so potential owners could see, hear and read about our boats. It helps to retain the value of the boats by providing information to all interested sailors. Members of the Assoc. pay a yearly fee that supports the forum, the web site, they receive the Mainsheet magazine and have access to the members area where there are discounts on outboards, BOATUS and other benefits as well as being able to attend and compete in regional regattas and the National Regatta.. We would welcome a similar relationship with Kelly Hanson and any other sailmaker if they offered it, and we would make it exclusive to our paid members 500+ strong. A benefit to our members and IMO a benefit to Kelly Hanson.</font id="navy"></font id="size2"></font id="Comic Sans MS">
The post should have been in the Swap Meet and at first I agreed with everyone else but after KellyHansenSails last post I do think he was extending an open hand.
I like the idea of a vendor willing to work with me/us to build something I/we spec, not something off the shelf.
If another forum were created and things started getting out of hand just cut it off. Just because we start a new forum doesn't mean it's etched in stone and can never go away. We on the forum decide what is best for us. If it turns out to be a bad idea turn it off!

I wish I was in a position to buy one of the 110's, just don't think I can get the admiral to agree to it. I could benefit from a new working jib; even though I have the Tall Rig, I bet it would work just fine. Prospector, I expect that the sails K-H listed above are all dacron sails. How does our relationship with Online Outboards work? Don't they have a link on our forum that enables us to get a discount when we do business with them? We could do the same with K-H. Our sailing club offers links on our web site, or at least used to, to vendors that produces a commission to the club whenever someone uses the link to place an order with that vendor. The one that comes to mind is Amazon. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
I agree, we have members selling stuff all the time and I found the post interesting in that it wasn't just a list of their regular prices, but a reduction of their current inventory and the reason why, like a head's up. So I guess I didn't find it spammy at all, plus I'm looking for a new main but unfortunately it didn't look like much for the tall rig.
Peter, not to hijack the thread but have you considered sending your main to Sail Care. I just got mine back (can't afford to buy new at this time) and it looks very good, clean, a bit stiffer, new telltales, and patches where needed. Should buy me a year or three. Cost was about 1/3 the cost of a new sail. The cleaning and rejuvenating alone, no sewing repairs, was about $190 for the TR main.

I think one of my mains is too far gone. I did buy a second one from the swap meet off of here which looks better but is missing some slugs. That might be an option, thanks for the tip.
Well I've read everything posted about the KELLYHANSON post and all the thing in the past about these sails. I was wondering if North sails or UK sails put this post in this forum would you still be protesting so loud.
I suggest a Forum titled VENDORS. They pay the same membership fee as regular members and are entitled to post commercial messages on that dedicated forum.
