A yacht club has a boat lift that doesn't go in the water... What does it do?

For curiosity . . . . just gotta ask . . . . while every year the question is asked "who would like to host the regatta . . . " I guess I would be interested in knowing where the sailors would like to go for a regatta?

Is the preference east or west coast? Or a lake? Or mid continent? Or the gulf? Or in Canada?

Maybe if we know the type of location that would attract participants it would be beneficial when twisting the per verbal arm.

Just had to ask . . .
Would anyone be interested in having the Nationals at Lake St Mary's Ohio. The club does have two 2 time National Champions in residence.

St. Mary's might be a very good candidate. There are C25s that might attend at Brookville Lake and I think at Rocky Fork Lake, and perhaps in the Indianapolis area, and Ben Shremshock might be tempted to bring his boat from Alum Creek Lake, near Columbus, and we have an active member near Waynesville, Ohio and, of course it's hard to imagine Bill Meinert not showing up when it's in his neighborhood, as well as some other C25 sailors in the area.
